Manchester, NH (May 20, 2010) – SNHU Online adjunct instructor John Blois received the 2010 Southern New Hampshire University Excellence in Teaching Award.

Blois teaches English and literature courses for the university.

“Hearing a student get excited about writing or about a piece of literature makes this job as exciting for me as it is for the student,” Blois said. “As someone much wiser than I said, when you enjoy what you’re doing, you never work a day in your life.”

SNHU’s annual teaching excellence awards recognize faculty members who exemplify those qualities that set the university apart as a teaching institution: effectiveness as a classroom teacher, commitment to students through advising and tutoring, professional development, contributions toward building the reputation or image of the university, impact on graduates as viewed by alumni and a general attitude toward students that demonstrates concern for their welfare.

This year’s full-time faculty award went to Dr. Doug Blais, chair of sport management. Bryan Bouchard, who teaches accounting and finance and works in SNHU’s Learning Center, also received an adjunct faculty award.
