Manchester, N.H. (May 20, 2010) – Bryan Bouchard, adjunct instructor, received the 2010 SNHU Excellence in Teaching Award.

“The award means a lot to me. To be recognized by students and peers is very gratifying,” Bouchard said. “Accounting and finance are subject areas that students often are afraid to take. My goal is to make the subject matter enjoyable through interesting examples so that students can relate to the material and better understand the concepts we are covering.”

In addition to teaching as an adjunct, Bouchard works full-time as the university’s business tutoring coordinator in the Learning Center.

SNHU’s annual teaching excellence awards recognize faculty members who exemplify those qualities that set the university apart as a teaching institution: effectiveness as a classroom teacher, commitment to students through advising and tutoring, professional development, contributions toward building the reputation or image of the university, impact on graduates as viewed by alumni and a general attitude toward students that demonstrates concern for their welfare.

This year’s full-time faculty award went to Dr. Doug Blais, chair of sport management. John Blois, who teaches English and literature, also received an adjunct faculty award.
