Michelle Samour Wired Eye #1, 2010, pigmented abaca, gouache, 23 inches diameter.

This exhibition is an investigation into a world under the microscope or within a computer screen, in which "flagella" seem to resemble fiber optic cables; brightly colored "organisms" are captured in slides and can be reconfigured on a light table; oversized specimens" are pinned to the walls; and "eyes hold biologic images on their surfaces. By breaking down plant fibers and staining them with pigments, the artist Michelle Samour creates objects and drawings that float on the gallery walls and prompt us to consider the art and poetry that is embedded in technology, science and the natural world.
