- Student; On Campus

Since transferring to SNHU during his freshman year, Nathaniel Boesch has distinguished himself as a committed environmental steward.
As a sophomore, Boesch joined three other students to launch Environmentally Sustainable Students, a campus club that promotes sustainability through its activities. Since his junior year, he has interned with Conservation New Hampshire, a statewide lobbying group, writing articles and other communications to raise awareness about environmental issues.
And for a month preceding his senior year, Boesch assisted Dr. Michele Goldsmith, an SNHU associate professor of science, on a research trip to Uganda, where they studied the effects of ecotourism on the conservation attitudes of tourists who participate in gorilla-trekking.
Boesch is combining a double major in political science and creative writing with minors in pre-law and environmental law and policy.
"I'm not ruling anything out, but I'm leaning toward an environmental-law program after I graduate," he says.
Boesch, who has studied abroad in the Netherlands and serves as a resident assistant, credits the university for broadening his horizons.
"Coming to SNHU, I felt the attention of the faculty, the way the professors reached out, was a very positive thing," he says. "Going to Uganda and studying abroad, I doubt those experiences would have happened somewhere else."
