As a youngster playing on the computer with his dad, Matthew Studley '07, '09 had no idea that his creative interest in technology and gaming would lead to the success he now enjoys as a computer software developer and project manager. His information technology skills and "out of the box" way of thinking are paramount to his achievements in voice recognition software development systems at Amcom in Manchester.
"My creativity and idea development were embraced by the professors at SNHU and I was able to realize my potential through my studies and my extra-curricular work," he said. "As a student I was able to work with members of the department to create the Game Design and Development Major, and uncover how some students could best learn through gaming techniques. We developed a curriculum that uses games to teach and that was an exciting endeavor to be a part of."
Being recognized for his creative energy was for Matthew a major accomplishment.
"I was young, energetic, and ready to go. I was also very fortunate to be surrounded by really good people and professors at SNHU who helped make my dreams a reality," said Matthew.
He attributes so much of his academic and personal success to his time at SNHU. He gained additional academic enrichment by founding and organizing the on-campus Video Gaming Club, an opportunity for other students like him to explore, develop, create and enjoy a similar passion.
Now that earned his bachelor's degree in Information Technology '07 and his masters in Information Technology in December '09, Matthew has high aspirations for his future career success. His goal is to be the chief information officer or owner of a company.
"I learned that in order to have success, you must first have patience and be prepared to work very hard," said Matthew. "And with that comes the ability to make things happen in your life."
