Logging-in to PENpal

To use PENpal everyone must have a user ID and password. ID's and passwords are sent to your SNHU e-mail address. If you are a student and have not used your SNHU e-mail, it is important that you set it up now as the SNHU e-mail address is the only communication tool used for PENpal. For e-mail instructions access the Computing Resources page and click on Email Instructions on the right.

  1. Your PENpal ID is the same as your e-mail ID and is case sensitive.
    • For Students the format is firstname.lastname. For example, if your name is Mary Smith then your PENpal ID will be mary.smith.
    • For Faculty the format is firstinitial.lastname. For example, if your name is John Jones then your PENpal ID will be j.jones.

  2. Your PENpal password will be identical to your SNHU e-mail password. If you are a faculty member and have problems logging in to your SNHU e-mail, please contact the HELP desk at ext. 4357 for assistance. If you are a student and have problems logging in to your SNHU e-mail, please contact the HELP desk at ext. 9000.

  3. Because your e-mail ID and password is used in areas other than e-mail, it is strongly recommended that you change your e-mail password the first time you log in. That password will automatically be valid for Blackboard, PENpal, and Library services. To change your e-mail password, logon to webmail.snhu.edu, press the Options button, then scroll down and press the Change Password button.

In the event that you forget your ID or password, or if you have trouble logging in send an e-mail to helpdesk@snhu.edu with a brief but accurate description of what occurred and the messages you received.
