The CESI annual business plan competition, The Tory C. Marandos Entrepreneurship Challenge, was made possible by a generous endowment to CESI and SNHU by Cosmos and Lynda Marandos and family of Nashua, NH. The annual competition honors the memory of their late son, Tory, and his enduring entrepreneurial spirit.
The competition began in the spring of 2011. The winner of that first competition was a firm called blue2green, LLC. This young entrepreneurial firm is involved in the reclamation of dams and the producing of hydroelectric power here in New Hampshire. CESI continues to support their efforts as well as other firms that were finalists and semi-finalists in the competition.
The competition is held each spring by CESI at SNHU. The annual cash award is $5,000 for the winner. Other non-cash prizes are awarded in addition to cash award to the winner. All 10 semi-finalists and finalists receive valuable non-cash awards including membership in CESI.
