Loan Counseling
If you are a first time borrower of Stafford Loans, it is a requirement that you complete Entrance Loan Counseling before any Stafford loans can be disbursed
Loan Counseling is designed to educate you, the student loan borrower, of your rights and responsibilities to Federal Student Loans.
- If you have a Stafford Loan only, visit studentloans.gov to complete loan entrance counseling for your Stafford Loans
- If you have a Grad PLUS Loan, visit studentloans.gov to complete loan entrance counseling for your Graduate PLUS Loan
If you are leaving the university (withdrawal or graduation), you must complete Exit Loan Counseling. Students completing a degree program at SNHU and have been accepted into the next level of degree work at SNHU (AA to BA/BS; BA/BS to Graduate studies) are still required to complete the appropriate exit loan counseling session. Refer to your loan records and past Financial Aid Award Notifications to see whether you have a Stafford or Perkins Loan.
- If you have a Stafford Loan only, complete loan exit
- If you have a Stafford and Perkins Loan, complete loan exit
- If you have a Grad PLUS Loan, complete loan exit
If you also have a Perkins Loan, information will be forthcoming from the Office of Financial Aid and your loan servicer (ESCI-Education Computer Services, Inc.).
