Loan Counseling

Entrance Loan Counseling

All first time borrowers are required, per federal regulations, to complete Entrance Loan Counseling before their loan proceeds can be released. Loan Counseling is designed to educate loan borrowers of their rights and responsibilities. Information and instructions on completing loan counseling will be available, via your SNHU e-mail address in June. Refer to your Financial Aid Award Notification to see whether you have a Stafford or Perkins Loan.

Exit Loan Counseling

If you are leaving the university (withdrawal or graduation), you must complete Exit Loan Counseling. Students completing a degree program at SNHU and have been accepted into the next level of degree work at SNHU (AA to BA/BS; BA/BS to Graduate studies) are still required to complete the appropriate exit loan counseling session. Refer to your loan records and past Financial Aid Award Notifications to see whether you have a Stafford or Perkins Loan.

If you also have a Perkins Loan, information will be forthcoming from the Office of Financial Aid and your loan servicer (ESCI-Education Computer Services, Inc.).
