Southern New Hampshire University Named
a ‘2011 Great College to Work For’

Manchester, N.H. (Nov. 16,, 2011) – Southern New Hampshire University was recognized in the recently completed “2011 Great Colleges to Work For” survey conducted by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

This is the fourth year in a row that SNHU has received this honor, however this year SNHU is also designated as an Honor Roll recipient. The Honor Roll acknowledges those colleges and universities that scored consistently well across all 13 categories of best practices and policies.  Southern New Hampshire University received recognition in multiple categories including:

Professional/Career Development Programs;
Compensation & Benefits;
Facilities
Workspaces & Security
Job Satisfaction
Work/Life Balance

The results, released in The Chronicle’s fourth annual report on The Academic Workplace, are based on a survey of nearly 44,000 employees at 310 colleges and universities.

"We work hard to make SNHU a great place at which to work because it is the right thing to do.  However, it is also gratifying to see that effort nationally recognized and across so many categories,” said SNHU President Paul LeBlanc. “The university is an economic engine for the area, creating 90 good paying jobs in the last 18 months alone with more to come. Our ability to recruit and keep excellent people will be enhanced with this honor.”

The Chronicle is the nation’s most important source of news about colleges and universities. “With the Great Colleges program, The Chronicle can provide even more of the vital information our readers rely on – unbiased reporting on which colleges are being innovative in their workplace practices.” said Chronicle Editor Jeffrey J. Selingo.
