Donovan, Carole

Carole serves as the contact between faculty and students, maintains faculty schedules, and coordinates use of the Curriculum Resource Room. She was an Administrative Assistant (UNH Manchester) for several years before becoming a stay at home mom and volunteer for her children’s school and extracurricular activities. She then worked for 6 years as a paraprofessional with preschoolers on the autism spectrum. She continues to support children with autism as a volunteer and respite care provider. More...

Fenton, Marilyn

Dr. Fenton taught writing and English in high schools in NY and NH and was Director of Curriculum & Instruction in a local school district. Her dissertation examines strategies for improving literacy in college freshmen. Reading and writing success of students in high school and college is a special interest. She has taught courses as a Visiting Professor of English and joined the School of Education in 2008. She enjoys preparing teachers to meet the reading and writing needs of their students. More...

Haddad, Edmund

Ed teaches courses in Special Education. Ed has taught and consulted for 25 years in the northeast. His interests include the impact of individuals with disabilities on families and sibling relationships. He was the Director of Grants Management for Geraldo Rivera's Wall Street Charity Fund that facilitates the deinstitutionalization of individuals with disabilities. He helped JFK Jr. start Reaching Up, a foundation to provide workers in institutions access to education and more opportunities. More...

Dr. Harris taught secondary history and social studies for 27 years and was a History Department Coordinator, Curriculum Director, and Asst. Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction. She was the Statewide Content Specialist for History/Social Science and member of the Assessment Development Committee for the MA Dept. of Education MCAS. She holds National Board Professional Teaching Certification and licensure in secondary history/social studies, supervisor, principal, and superintendent. Ellen was appointed Associate Dean in 2007, overseeing all aspects of the School of Education.  She has 30 years experience in education, beginning her career in Student Affairs, then moving to faculty member, director of a college lab school, owner of a private early care and education business, family advocate, consultant for early childhood education and special education, and professional trainer.  As a lifelong learner, she is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in Leadership in Schooling K-12. Jim recently joined the school as Director of Teacher Education & Certification. He is responsible for the administration of Early & Varied Field Experience and Student Teaching. For 12 years he was Director of SNHU's Career Development Center. He has taught courses including Career Counseling, American Work Experience, Human Relations and Sociology of Marriage & Family. He is a local fire dept. volunteer firefighter and EMT and teaches First Aid/CPR for members of the SNHU community.  More...

Lorraine is Chair of Graduate Studies and serves on the university committees for Curriculum & Assessment. She was a fellow in the Project to Increase Mastery of Math & Science. She is project director for NH Dept. of Education's Mathematics & Science Partnership Grant, developing professional development models for increasing achievement in science through district partnerships supporting teachers. Audrey is certified in grades 5-12 in social studies and has taught at the secondary level for 12 years and post-secondary level for 9 years. She is an expert in educational technology, secondary social studies education, and literacy. She has authored several curriculum kits. A member of the NH Staff Development Council and the NH Council for Social Studies, she also co-chairs the Advisory Board of the Freshman Experience course, SNHU 101, and is a member of the Teach 21 Team on ePortfolio. With over 25 years of experience in elementary and over 14 years in higher education, Cathy is an expert in mathematics, differentiated instruction, and assessment.  She was a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics Teaching at state (1998-2000) and national levels (2002) and of SNHU's Excellence in Teaching Award (2008). Pat serves as administrative support to the Associate Dean and Assistant Dean.  After almost 15 years working for the State of NH, she was excited to join SNHU.  In her undergraduate program, the support she received from the academic community was outstanding.  Being able to reciprocate this support in any way is paramount in her interactions with Education students. She has presented at national conferences and published papers regarding online learning and adolescent literacy in journals such as Language & Literacy Spectrum, Journal of Authentic Learning, and Journal of Natural Inquiry & Reflective Practice.
