One is making sweet music on campus and the other is helping students develop their business acumen: both Southern New Hampshire University staff members are included in the Union Leader’s 2012 “40 Under Forty” list.

Rick Cook, SNHU director of Music, and Bryan Bouchard, SNHU Business Tutoring coordinator, captured coveted spots on the annual list, which honors the state’s “up-and-coming residents who are helping to make New Hampshire a great place to live.” Cook, a 34-year-old Sandown resident, was instrumental in creating the Southern New Hampshire Community Band, comprised of local music teachers, university students and other members of the community, including some advanced high school musicians. He also helped the university string ensemble grow to the 50-plus member Community Orchestra and developed the university’s music education major.

Bouchard, a 33-year-old Manchester resident, was hailed for his exemplary efforts in coordinating the university’s business tutoring services and serving on the board of the Women for Women Coalition, which helps African refugees, as well as other volunteer activities.
