Since coming to the United States from her native Romania in 2008, Sinziana Scoarta has found a second home at SNHU.
While studying hospitality at a university in Crete, Scoarta came to SNHU on an exchange program and eventually transferred. After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality business in 2010, she became an assistant residence director and earned an M.B.A. from SNHU in 2012. Now a residence director on campus, Scoarta hopes to build a career in higher education administration.
Scoarta's immersion in campus life fueled her decision to transfer to SNHU. "I was really making the most of the experience, and I realized that I had developed a lot as an individual and wanted to continue that growth," she says.
Coupling her M.B.A. studies with an assistant residence director position offered Scoarta the chance to put classroom theories into practice. "I was not a CEO or an owner of my own business, but I got to apply organizational leadership principles and supervise a variety of individuals," she says.
As she strives to apply her business skills to higher education, Scoarta also hopes to give back. "I want to be part of students’ growth in the same manner that other people have been part of my growth as a student," she says.
