Residence Hall Programming
While resident students are constantly learning in their informal residence hall environments, programming is an organized way of facilitating both personal and community development. Programming provides an additional avenue that can promote action oriented learning. Effective programming requires proactive planning on the part of the Residence Life Staff, who view students as active rather than passive recipients of a planned intervention.
Programming can be designed to meet a great variety of student needs. Effective programming provides learning experiences for both staff and students. The Office of Residence Life has defined 4 areas of programming, Educational, Cultural, Social, and Recreational, which relate directly to the interest and needs of a college student. These components, when used together, offer our students a wide range of diverse programs.
Questions about residence hall programming or how to become involved can be directed to your Resident Assistant or Residence Director.
