Enjoy exquisitely prepared cuisine from around the world at Southern New Hampshire University’s student-run, fine-dining restaurant, The Quill.
During the academic year, our culinary arts students prepare and serve French, Eastern European, Northern Europe, Far East, Near & Middle Eastern, Iberian & Latin American and Classical meals. For a real treat, come when the students are challenged to come up with their own signature dishes.
The restaurant is open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for lunch and Wednesday and Thursday evenings for dinner. Prix fixe and tasting menus feature appetizers, soups and salads, entrees, and desserts that will thrill your palate. For lunch in the spring semester, we offer American Regional Cuisine.
On weekdays we offer lighter fare from our Caffe e Dolce and invite you to relax with friends in The Quill.

seating to serving.
The restaurant’s name, The Quill, evokes the history of the university, which was founded as a school of accounting in the early 1930s. The quill, a pen used by colonial accountants, also appears as a staff held by the university’s Penmen mascot in Athletics logos and as a feather in the
Early scribes wrote and decorated the pages of their manuscripts including the Bible and the Magna Carta with quill pens. Artists used them to sign their masterpieces with the quill. Wars were started, won and lost, and some were even averted by the stroke of a quill. Great works of literature, daily ship logs, correspondence and historical documents that changed the world, such as the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution were written and signed with the quill pen.
