CED (Ph.D.) Admission Requirements
Information about PhD Program requirements, cost, application for admission, and financial aid can be obtained from the Admissions Office: 603.644.3123, a.poore@snhu.edu. Applications can be downloaded from the web (www.snhu.edu/ced) . The deadline for applications is February 1st (early admits) or March 15th at the latest, to begin in September. In addition to the admission requirements, applicants need a laptop computer (student purchase available), e-mail and Internet access, application, transcripts, letters of reference, writing & research samples, fee, professional resume, and optional interviews. Students without a Masters are encouraged to apply to the MA or MS programs.
International students are required to complete an SNHU International Application, submit documents (translated into English) and proof of English proficiency. All students whose primary language is not English must submit scores of 550 (600 preferred) on the paper (PBT) Test of English as a Foreign Language or IBT 80 (100), computer 213 (250). Admissions are made by the PhD Program Committee led by the PhD Program Chair. The PhD Program admits on merit the most accomplished diverse class from the applicant pool. Admissions are competitive and limited in number; not all qualified applicants may be admitted. PhD students, while eligible to receive an MA, are not Masters students. MS & MA students are encouraged to seek educational opportunities consistent with their career goals, including the PhD degree. But admission to the PhD Program requires a separate application.
Students without master's degrees are encouraged to apply to the M.A. in CED Policy.
