ICED Objectives
- Strengthen participants' professional practice by focusing on state-of-the-art methods in microenterprise and microcredit; community-based participation in reconstruction, relief and rehabilitation; local program management and administration; women’s economic empowerment and HIV/AIDS prevention; youth entrepreneurship; and the advancement of economic literacy.
- Create a learning community where participants share their experiences, discuss best practices and design innovative approaches to participatory community economic development.
- Develop participants' leadership, management and advocacy skills .
- Provide technical tools for project management using a hands-on approach for directly applying techniques and methods in the field.
- Promote the creation of a CED practitioners network to encourage lifelong learning.
