2014 Commencement Speakers Announced

Southern New Hampshire University will celebrate its 82nd commencement on Saturday, May 10, at the Verizon Wireless Arena. The ceremony for undergraduate students will begin at 10 a.m. and the ceremony for graduate students will begin at 4 p.m.

United States Poet Laureate (1997-2000) Robert Pinsky will serve as the undergraduate commencement speaker while New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan will serve as the graduate commencement speaker. Pinsky will receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree; Gov. Hassan will receive an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree.

Commencement Notes:
Time and Location: Saturday, May 10, at 10 a.m. (undergraduate) and 4 p.m. (graduate) at the Verizon Wireless Arena, 555 Elm St., Manchester, N.H.

Honorary Degree Recipient: Professor Eleanor Dunfey-Freiburger, SNHU’s first endowed chair in business ethics and a member of the team that developed the university’s three-year honors degree in business, will receive an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree during the undergraduate ceremony.

2,775 (Total undergraduate students who earned degrees in 2013-2014)

1302 (Number of undergraduate students expected to attend the May 10 ceremony)

Number of Graduate Students:

2,047 (Total graduate students who earned degrees in 2013-2014)
