School of CED Admissions


The School of Community Economic Development offers four graduate degree programs leading to a Masters of Science, Masters of Arts, or a doctorate. All degree programs include non-residential or weekend format options.

 Who should apply?
National CED Practitioners

  • Directors, board members, chief financial officers, chief operating officers, program managers, planners, community organizers, and staff of community development corporations (CDCs), housing development organizations (CHDOs), community development credit unions (CDCUs), community-based organizations (CBOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other community oriented nonprofits or financial institutions.
  • Staff in National and regional community development intermediaries; holders of NRC professional certificates earn advanced standing -Partnerships.
  • Nonprofit, Municipal and county managers, administrators, planners, and professionals.
  • Citizen activists and members of municipal and regional planning commissions and boards engaged in CED.

International CED Practitioners

  • Practitioners in international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) based in the U.S. and abroad.
  • Peace Corps volunteers and former PCVs.
  • Staff from philanthropic, corporate or governmental organizations involved in international development; and their grantee organizations.

Prospective CED Practitioners:

  • Community activists, Human Service and Health Professionals interested in a career in CED.
  • Students interested in a career in national or international CED.
