Run to home base logoOn July 19, more than 25 representatives from Southern New Hampshire University's College of Online and Continuing Education will run, walk and volunteer at The Home Base Program's 5th Annual Run to Home Base event. Runners and walkers will start outside of Fenway Baseball Stadium and complete their route—either a 9k run or 3 k walk—on home base. As a sponsor, SNHU is proud to support the program’s efforts to help Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and families heal the invisible wounds of war—post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury.

"It's an honor for us to work with groups like The Home Base Program," said Gary Soldato, LTC, U.S. Army (R) and vice president of Military Initiatives at SNHU. "The support they provide to veterans when they come home as well as their families is something we are excited to be a part of."

Southern New Hampshire University demonstrates its support for those who serve and their families through sponsorship of events such as the Run to Home Base and by making education more accessible to students who sacrifice so much for their country. SNHU's partnership with The Home Base Program extends beyond the July event.

"We've been able to take advantage of services provided by the Home Base Program to better support our large population of military students," said Jessica Higgins, a U.S. Army veteran and military academic advisor at SNHU.

Higgins, the SNHU team captain, will lead a group of SNHU representatives from various areas of the school. Whether they are academic advisors, admissions counselors or deans—whether they are running or walking—SNHU prides itself on supporting our veterans and their families every step of the way.
