Student Functions Involving Alcohol
Hosting Wet Events
Hosting wet functions is a privilege and failure to follow these guidelines is a violation of the University Code of Conduct and will be handled according to disciplinary procedures. Wet functions handled irresponsibly will not be tolerated. As an example, any event that is not planned well, forms are turned in late, and/or guidelines are not followed will result in the cancellation of the event. This could also result in the loss of privileges for future events. Any questions or concerns should be addressed to the Director of Campus Programming, the Wellness Center, or the Dining Services professional in charge.
In order to sponsor a university function, a student representative from the organization must meet with the Director of Campus Programming no less than three weeks prior to its function, to pick up the proper registration forms. The completed registration forms must be reviewed by the Director of Campus Programming a minimum of two weeks prior to the function before approval for the event will be granted.
For wet functions, no one under 21 years of age will be admitted unless that person is working the function—students must possess two (2) forms of valid I.D. (Drivers license/passport and SNHU Student I.D.) The participants in the event should be of legal drinking age, and the success of the event is not dependent on mixed age groups. Trained service personnel must staff each event.
The gym will not be available for wet functions without approval from both the Director of Campus Programming and the Athletic Department.
Principles of good hosting will govern all events on and off campus involving the use of alcohol. Non-alcoholic beverages and food must be visible and available throughout the event. The amount and availability of beer/wine and/or liquor at university wet functions will be determined by the Director of Campus Programming and is dependent upon estimated attendance.
The duration of university functions hosted by students or student organizations will be determined by the Director of Campus Programming. The cost of alcoholic beverages at university functions will be determined by the assigned liquor license - the Pub, SNHU Dining Services, or third party vendor.
With events being held on-campus, and not in the Pub, a representative from the sponsoring organization must meet with the Director of Dining Services no less than 10 days prior to the function to obtain the cafeteria alcohol beverage license. The sponsoring organization must pay Dining Services for rental of the license.
All outside groups using campus facilities serving alcohol (e.g. camps, weddings) must be coordinated through the Dining Services Office, Public Safety, and Conference Services.
For all off-campus events where alcohol is served, the sponsoring organization needs to make arrangements through a licensed transportation company at least three weeks prior to the event. These arrangements need to be coordinated and approved by the Director of Campus Programming.

These types of functions will primarily be held on the SNHU campus.
