Lori DeConinck is the Director of The Learning Center. She has been with the university in various capacities for 30 years and finds her work with students to be extremely energizing and rewarding. In addition to her work in The Learning Center, she also teaches psychology and sociology courses. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from SNHU and a Master’s of Arts degree in Counseling and Therapy from Rivier College. She lives in Goffstown with Phil, her husband of 22 years, Danny- their 15 year old son, their dog Emma and kittens Nika and Henry. This fall, she and her family plan a trip to Italy to visit daughter Kate, who is a junior at Connecticut College studying abroad in Rome.

Her jobs include hiring, training and supervising the desk assistants that work in the computer lab, as well as processing the payroll for all of the student workers in the Learning Center. Mariann worked as a math teacher for 29 years at Milton High School in Milton, Vermont. After taking an early retirement, she joined SNHU's Vermont Center in 2001 and worked there until she and her husband Joe moved to the Manchester area in the summer of 2005. She joined the Learning Center later that summer. Mariann loves working here and is happy that her job allows her to work with students again.

Bryan Bouchard works as the Business Tutoring Coordinator in The Learning Center. One of his responsibilities is hiring, training, and supervising all of the tutors in the business area. In addition, he supervises a group of students that work as lab assistants in undergraduate IT classes. Bryan also teaches the supplemental instruction labs in accounting, economics, and finance. Outside of his Learning Center responsibilities Bryan also works as an adjunct faculty member teaching various accounting and finance courses at both the graduate and undergrad level. Classes Bryan teaches are ACC201, ACC202, FIN320, FIN330, MBA503, and FIN500. He holds a B.S in Economics - Finance, an MBA, and an M.S. in Finance from SNHU.

Chad has been actively involved in the Learning Center for over seven years. As an undergraduate, he worked as a Peer Mentor and Writing/Math Tutor. After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in English Education, Chad worked as a Graduate Assistant in the Learning Center where he coordinated the Peer Mentor program. During his assistantship, he helped create two new courses: Tutor/Mentor Ed. and Learning Strategies Seminar. In 2004, Chad received his Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Currently, he is the Academic Counselor/Peer Mentor Coordinator in the Learning Center at Southern New Hampshire University. Along with being the Peer Mentor Coordinator, Chad coordinates tutor training and teaches Learning Strategies Seminar and English in the undergraduate day program.

Kim has been the Writing Tutoring Coordinator at SNHU since January 2001. In partnership with Helen Packey, she is also currently advancing writing across the curriculum on our campus. Kim teaches English 101, 120, and 121 in the undergraduate day program. She thoroughly enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds, ages, and levels in her role at The Learning Center. Kim earned her BA in English from SUNY Buffalo, her M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction at Keene State College. She also has taught extensively in New Hampshire secondary schools. She is currently a candidate for the Ph. D. in Composition and TESOL at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She lives in Franklin, NH with her husband, Vince, thirteen-year-old daughter, Kira, and two cats.

Kathy Willis is the Math Tutoring Coordinator for the Learning Center at Southern New Hampshire University. In addition to her responsibilities at the Learning Center, she is also teaching Finite Math and Statistics this term. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Math Education from the University of Maine and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of New Hampshire. Before joining the SNHU community in 1998, she taught mathematics in the Londonderry school system for 13 years. She enjoys the challenge of helping students improve their skills in mathematics. Through engaging students in positive experiences in math she hopes to increase students' confidence in their ability to achieve success in mathematics. She resides in Hooksett with her husband, Peter and their 12 year old daughter, Hannah, and persnickety cat Bertha.
