Numerous accounting courses are also taught by adjunct faculty with professional credentials and field experience in accounting, taxation, and fraud examination, bringing real-world experience into the classroom. SNHU professors are actively involved in overseeing the success of their students.

Access helpful job search connections
Evidence of our strong accounting curriculum is the number of SNHU students who are hired by public accounting firms and pass the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam. At the annual Accounting Career Night, well attended by local accounting and finance firms, you can talk with firms seeking SNHU graduates.

In-state SNHU CPA alumni can also provide helpful connections during your job search. Area job fairs offer additional opportunities to connect with employers, and the SNHU Accounting Association provides hot-topic workshops, interview sessions, and social events.

Gain hands-on tax preparation experience
Become an IRS-certified volunteer through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at SNHU, the only school in NH to offer this program to students. Receive course credit as you learn how to complete basic 1040 tax forms for the general public.

Enjoy a history of leading programs
The accounting and taxation department is one of the longest-standing programs at SNHU, which was founded in 1932 as the New Hampshire School of Accounting and Secretarial Science. The program’s long history at the university has helped to place it at the forefront in offering up-and-coming programs, such as the Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination program for accounting/finance professionals. The only such program in New England, this graduate certificate program meets a growing need for certified fraud examiners.
