Become well versed in major psychological concepts, human behavior and research methods through our four-year psychology degree program. Develop critical thinking skills and communications skills important to communicating effectively in many formats. Enjoy small classes and easy access to faculty for academic advising and assistance.
A solid base in liberal arts studies provides a well-rounded education that supports your study of psychology. Tailor your program with electives focused on your area of interest in psychology. You can also choose a degree concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology or Forensic Psychology.
Beginning early in your program, you are encouraged to participate in applied learning experiences such as case studies, group projects, volunteer activities, experiential learning, internships and field trips. A range of experiential learning opportunities lets you apply what you’re learning. Demonstrate your understanding of psychology applications through supervised field experiences.
Work closely with our psychology department faculty, take part in community service projects or join the Psych Club. High-achieving students are invited to join Psi Chi, the Psychology International Honor Society.
As part of your coursework for your on-campus or online degree in psychology at Southern New Hampshire University, you may choose to engage in any number of practical learning experiences as an intern or volunteer. This may include gaining firsthand experience at organizations such as the UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center, Manchester Mental Health Center or Riverbend Community Mental Health. Or, you may work with faculty on research, presentations and publishing. Hands-on learning is encouraged, as is taking on increasing responsibility during these opportunities.
