SOAR (Sexual Orientations Accepted & Respected)
The purpose of SOAR is to build a community and provide a comfortable social atmosphere for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning. Our organization not only benefits students who fall into those categories but the students who support them as well, their allies. We also work to promote a positive atmosphere on campus and create an awareness of issues facing students with different sexual orientations.
Weekly meetings are social in nature and are a way to connect with other students and allies on campus. There are weekly trivia questions, movie nights, and game nights. The group will also be looking into scholarship opportunities for individuals and information will be available at group meetings.
