Transferring to SNHU

Thinking about transferring to SNHU as a full-time undergraduate? Go for it. At SNHU, you’ll find a welcoming community and the support you need to go the extra mile - wherever you want to go.

We offer generous transfer credit policies  and an official credit evaluation is completed for each student as part of the application review process.  Most successful transfer applicants have a cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale).

You can apply anytime - but we recommend that you apply before May 15 for fall admission and before November 15 for spring. 

How to apply

1. Complete and submit the application (including the essay):

2. Submit the following documents to the director of admission:

  • Your official high school transcript (or GED)
  • An official transcript from every college or university you have attended (transcript request form) (PDF 7 kb) 
  • A list of your current college courses in progress. (Transfer Supplement form) (PDF 7 kb)
  • A letter of recommendation from a professor, academic advisor, community leader, or supervisor regarding your character and potential for success at SNHU
  • A writing sample (creative writing majors)
  • A resume (BASHA students only)

3. Schedule an interview with an admission counselor (optional but highly recommended) by contacting the admission office.

4. Explore financial aid

Unnofficial preliminary transfer credit evaluations are available upon request.  If you are interested in one please complete the Preliminary Transfer Credit Evaluation Form  (PDF 42 kb) and send it to our office along with copies of your transcripts from all college work.
