For Web Content Editors

This is the default start page so that you can keep up to date on changes related to RedDot and ways to make it work better for you. If you'd prefer RedDot to open to a different page by default, e-mail webfeedback@snhu.edu and we will make it so.

Reminders

  • Search the site before adding content. You may find it's already there, or that it needs to be updated somewhere else also.
  • Spell Check!
  • Always preview the page before submitting. If it doesn't look right in preview it won't look right live
  • Submit to workflow through TASKS. If you don't submit it the changes won't go live.

Web Editor FAQ's

Why are there crosshairs in my table/why can't I add content to a cell in a table?

If you see something like the table below and see cross hairs when you mouse over the upper right cell, it means that there is no cell there to enter text into. The table below only has 3 cells.
Solution: To add the missing cell click into cell 1 and then the "Insert cell to the right" button from the toolbar.

What's with the extra line space?

Just like in Microsoft word, if you want to continue on the next line without a space between the lines hold down the shift key when you hit enter.
Solution:  To remove a space between lines, delete the spaces and returns and then position the cursor and hit SHIFT + Enter

Why is there a big white space at the top of my page?

Usually this is because you have tried to put something that is too wide in the text area- typically a table with a pixel width of over 460 pixels or a very long URL.
Solution; Don't manually set table or column widths, or adjust column sizes in excel or other programs, let Reddot resize the table as needed. Don't manually enter long URL's. Call 603.645.9635 if you need help.
