A written request must be filed with the Chair of the Board within ten (10) days of the date the appeal was rejected. Said request must include the following information:
automobile registration number
SNHU permit number
nature of the offense(s)
reason(s) for requesting the appeal be reviewed
Students may deliver their written request in a sealed envelope to the Public Safety Office located in Belknap Hall. The request will then be forwarded to the Chair of the Board.
The attendance of two Traffic Court members, be they Student or Staff, will be sufficient to constitute a quorum.
After an initial review of the case, the Board may decide that there are insufficient grounds for reconsideration of the appeal there by rendering the ticket valid. If a majority of the Board members decide to hear the case, the person requesting the review may, at the discretion of the Board, be asked to appear at the hearing.
In the event of a hearing, the Chair is to communicate to the Assistant Director of Public Safety the decision reached by the Board. Based on experience and information gained from the hearing, the Board may suggest to the Assistant Director of Public Safety areas where clarification of the regulations may be in order.
The decision of the Board is final.
