Matt ArvanitisHead Coach
Matt Arvanitis was named golf coach at Southern New Hampshire University in April of 2005.
Arvanitis was a two-year member of the SNHU golf team, was named Northeast-10 Conference Player of the Year in 2001 and also collected first-team all-conference honors in 2001 and 2002. He guided the Penmen to back-to-back Northeast-10 Conference championships in 2001 and 2002 and their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament in the spring of 2003.
Arvanitis has also enjoyed success outside of collegiate golf. He is a two-time Manchester City Champion (2000, 2004) and claimed the Granite State Open championship in 1999. In August of 2005 he competed at the United States Amateur Championship in Philadelphia, Pa.
He qualified for the US Open sectionals in 2001 and qualified for the US Amateur Public Links and the United States Golf Association (USGA) State Team Championship in 2003. A native of Manchester, N.H. and a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, he has also represented New Hampshire at the Tri-State Championships on three occasions.
The golf program was reinstated as a varsity sport at SNHU in the fall of 2000 and competes as a member of the Northeast-10 Conference. The University previously offered golf as a varsity sport during the 1970's.
