The goal of this 2-course sequence is for each student to achieve the level of proficiency in academic writing that is necessary to complete the Master's degree. This will include mastery of writing skills and techniques in three areas: (1) Composition; (2) Style and Clarity; and (3) Mechanics. ICD 401 and ICD 402 constitute the sequence of academic writing courses during the first and second semesters of the ICED MS program. The first of these two courses, ICD 401, will be offered in the Fall Semester as a companion course to ICD 533. This course will provide instruction on mechanics and provide targeted support tied to the written assignments for ICD 533. The writing instructor also will provide support for the 'composition' issues targeted to each written assignment for ICD 533.
