This course provides a comprehensive look at Latin America by closely examining the historical roots of its societies, as well as their current sociopolitical developments. The course places special emphasis on the historical trends that shaped today's Latin America, and on the particular political characteristics of the region through the analysis of selected country case studies, such as Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and Cuba.
