This introductory course is designed to prepare prospective teachers who will engage in teaching at the secondary level. It is intended to provide them with an understanding of teaching strategies as well as provide them with content knowledge that uses standards based learning. It is also provides a framework to assist prospective teachers in generating and implementing lesson plans, unit plans, and how to assess these plans in the classroom with students. This course requires extensive field experience with local school districts.
