Dining Services Student Work Assistance Program

Dining Services is able to offer a unique work program to students each year called the Student Work Assistance Program (SWAP).  This program offers students the chance to work in our cafeteria and Snackbar areas approximately 15 hours per week in exchange for a free meal plan.  In addition to the meal plan at no charge, you also receive a paycheck like any other student job offered on campus.

Duties involved in the positions include grill work, fast food preparation, cafeteria service, pizza preparation, kitchen prep work and cleaning of work areas.  Shifts are mainly in the evening, and always include one weekend shift.  Most students that work for us are easily able to fit 15 hours per week into their schedules, but we have found that this particular program does not usually work well for students who are committed to a rigorous sports training schedule or have commitments to return home every weekend.  There is a job fair held on campus shortly after your arrival which will give you access to jobs that may be more suitable for this type of schedule.

If this program sounds like something that interests you, please fill out the attached application and contract and return it with a resume or cover letter to the Dining Services office.   Program selections will be announced later in the summer, and you will be notified if you have been chosen for the program so that your account can be adjusted before you arrive at the University.

If you should have any questions regarding the program, please feel free to call us at any time on (603) 645 9710 and ask for Deb Murphy or Heléna Heijn.
