SNHU Laconia
(January/February 2009). After February, we encourage you to continue your program through SNHU Online.
-
Cost: We will continue to offer the Laconia tuition rate to current Laconia Center students for SNHU Online classes (this rate does not apply to other CE Center locations) taken between March 1 and December 31, 2009. Those of you who commute south may decide to simply take courses at our other centers, including our new location in Salem.
-
Graduation: We plan to hold a graduation reception for Laconia students in the Lakes Region area. Students who plan to graduate in May 2009 will be contacted with information about the about the commencement ceremony in Manchester and the local reception.
You are welcome to continue to use the computer labs for the foreseeable future. Until a decision is made about whether to sell the building or convert it to rental space, we hope that you continue to use the center to support your studies at SNHU.
In addition to the closure, Adrienne Stevens, the director of the Laconia Center, has decided to retire on August 31. Adrienne has been a strong advocate of Southern New Hampshire University in the Lakes Region, and has contributed her many talents to the region’s social and economic growth. She is currently the president of the Meredith Chamber of Commerce, and has served on numerous chambers and boards throughout her long career. Adrienne has been a tireless advocate for adult learners in the Lakes Region, making the Laconia Center a welcoming resource for higher education opportunity. Adrienne will be deeply missed. Please make sure to say goodbye to this remarkable educator!
After Adrienne leaves, I will become Acting Director through February 28th. Feel free to contact me directly at 645-9789 or e.griffin@snhu.edu , or make an appointment with Sandy to meet with me. I will be at the Laconia Center on September 2 and 3, then at least once a week after that.
Please be assured that our top priority during this transition is your journey toward graduation.
Sincerely,
Ellen Ryder Griffin, Dean
School of Professional and Continuing Education
