Developed for those doing research or projects using demographics or statistics, this guide is a suggested list of resources, including electronic databases, selected Internet sites and print materials. • Business and Company Resource Center. 
  Company profiles, company brand information, rankings,  investment reports, company histories, chronologies. 
• Business Search Interface to Business Source Complete. 
  The Interface accesses the BSC database by  company, industry, country and market research reports.
• First Gov.
  Premier search engine that retrieves information from all the web sites of the U.S. federal government.
• Historical Statistics of the United States. 
  Provides quantitative facts from all aspects of American history.
• International Financial Statistics. 
  Statistical database from the International Monetary Fund.
• Mintel Reports. 
  Research reports covering US and International marketplaces. These provide data &  analysis of the competitive landscape, market-share analysis and consumer profiles.
• Reference USA. 
  Database of public and private businesses. Information can be accessed by company  name, yellow page heading, industry code and geographic area.
• STAT-USA
  Premier site for the U.S. business, economic and trade community, that provides national and international statistics from the Federal government.

• Council of Economic Advisors, the Joint Economic Committee.  Economic Indicators.     Provides information on prices, wages, business activity, credit, etc. - monthly from 1995.
• US Census   Relevant topics on the Home Page are:
    American Factfinder (for a variety of demographic and statistical data)
    Statistical Abstracts (the site for U.S. demographic information)
    FedStats (for links to statistics and statistical agencies)
    State and Metropolitan Area Data Book
• US Department of Commerce -examine the Home Page for entry into relevant topics .  

International Online Resources

• GEOHIVE Global Statistics .  
  Site has geopolitical data, statistics on population of regions, countries, provinces and cities. 
•  Infonation 
  United Nations site with information on population, health, economy, and technology by  country. 
• Population Reference Bureau 
  Provides information on the “population dimensions of important social, economic, and political  issues...timely and objective information on U.S. and international population trends and their  implications.”
• US Department of Commerce:  
  The main gateway for Statistical Agencies, International  and the International Data Base    
•  World Development Indicators  
   From the World Bank, the site contains statistical data for development indicators and time series  data from 1960-2003.

• Statistical Resources on the Web. 
  University of Michigan Documents Library.  One of the most cited and extensive  gateways to other demographic and statistics sites on the web.
