The MS Programs Brochure is available for download.

SNHU's School of Community Economic Development, in collaboration with the Community Development Technologies Center (CDTech), is offering its nationally renowned master’s degree program in Los Angeles. The National Weekend Master’s Program – West Coast Location offers a 20-month Master of Science program designed for working professionals interested in gaining the credentials and skills to help communities become more stable and achieve greater ownership over resources.

CD Tech  is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting economic opportunities and justice for low-income residents and communities throughout Greater Los Angeles.

Participants travel to the school’s West Coast Location and take courses during one long weekend per month (Friday to Sunday) with some exceptions and work online the rest of the month.

The Program has been approved by the State of California Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education.

Project Requirement
Participants are required to plan and implement a CED project in their communities as part of the program. Typically, the project is linked to their area of specialization and employment. The “learning by doing” sequence of courses (CED 791 through 794) takes place throughout the duration of the program and is designed for students to learn and apply directly all the skills and tools CED practitioners need to enhance their community-based work. Topics covered include, but are not limited to, community needs assessment, outcomes-based project design, the logic model, research and statistical analysis of socioeconomic data, project implementation, and project evaluation. The final report on the project is a requirement for graduation and serves the purpose of a graduate thesis.

Curriculum
Students must complete 39 credits, including required & elective courses, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to graduate. A complete listing of required CED courses is available. Please be advised that current "elective" course offerings differ from those courses offered at CED Manchester location.
