Plagiarism Communication
It is better to set expectations up front regarding plagiarism then to deal with the issue after a paper is submitted. Consider these questions when assigning written work:
- To what extent does the assignment require original work? For example, is it ok if 70% of the paper is cited from other sources?
- Is the class aware of SNHU's academic honesty policy?
- How will you discuss plagiarism with your class? Sample Talking Points
- If you will be using Turnitin, how and when will you communicate this to your class?
