The Greater Salem Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Washington Update on Friday, Jan. 13, at 7:30 a.m. at Southern New Hampshire University’s Salem Center. Second District Congressman Charles Bass will be the featured guest.

Each January the Chamber invites members of New Hampshire’s congressional delegation to address its members and the community on issues of regional and national concern.  The format will include audience questions; local attorney and program coordinator, Bernard H. Campbell will serve as moderator.

The Eagle Tribune Publishing Co. is once again sponsoring the event, along with the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee.

“World events should dominate much of this year’s discussion, including Iraq, the Middle East and national security issues, such as the Patriot Act,” said Campbell, a member of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee.

The Government Affairs Committee, under the direction of Chairperson Sally D’Angelo, is responsible for programming events involving local, state and national affairs. It has previously organized local, state and federal candidate debates, meetings with state legislators and programs on the state tax structure.

The  event  is   free  of  charge  and  all  members  of  the public are invited.

As an additional incentive to Chamber members and persons interested in Chamber membership,  an  attendance  sponsor  will contribute  $5 to the Chamber for each Chamber, up to a $500 total contribution.

The Salem Center is located at 19 Keewaydin Drive.

Please contact  Bernard H. Campbell at 603.898.2635 or Sally D’Angelo at 603.898.4278 for more information.
