Eve Fogarty '06
- Faculty; Online
But she didn’t let that stop her. Through a combination of evening courses, online programs and on-campus residencies, Fogarty earned a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees and is now completing work on a doctorate.
“My education has been very nontraditional,” she says.
Fogarty’s educational experience puts her on common ground with her SNHU Online students in business and education.
“Most of my students are going to school while working,” she says. “Having done it myself, I know some of the pratfalls and pitfalls, and I can help my students get through.”
Her background also makes her especially attuned to the online experience.
“I love online classrooms,” says Fogarty. “In an on-campus class, it’s easier for a student to hide. But online, you can’t be a wallflower. You have to participate. And you can’t rely on body language here; you have to be able to communicate your thoughts in text. It’s a much more open environment — and it really brings people out.”
