The Southern New Hampshire University Culinary Team competed on Saturday, Feb. 4 against Atlantic Culinary Academy's team at the 2006 NH ACF Junior Team Championship held at their school in Dover. In a close and competitive competition, SNHU prevailed winning the competition with a Silver Medal. The team will now travel to Toronto to compete at the ACF Northeast Regional Team Championship against other state teams from the Northeast Region for a right to compete at the National; ACF Conference this summer in Philadelphia.

Congratulations are in order to team members Robert Jensen (Captain), Charles VanBuren, Alex Moro, Carter Light and Bethany Duca (Alternate). Special thanks are in order to my assistant coach Matt Louis who is currently an adjunct instructor in the School of Hospitality.

In over 12 years of competing, SNHU chef instructor Perrin Long said he had never heard the critique given to our salad course prepared by Alex Moro. Chef Nick Zakharoff, executive chef at the Harvard Club in Boston, Mass., said that " the salad was the best he had ever eaten at a competition. Walter Zurmomski CEC, CCE, owner of Chef's Services Consulting Group in Providence, R.I. said during the critique, "the salad is perfect, lets move on."
