Computing Resources

This department is committed to maintaining and advancing a high-quality technology infrastructure to realize the vision, support the mission, and facilitate the guiding principles of Southern New Hampshire University. Department staff are always available to help students, faculty, and staff maximize their use of technology for learning, teaching, and running the university.

The university has many student computer laboratories and high-technology classrooms:

  • a specialized Database/Operating System lab and an Internet/Networking Lab for undergraduate and graduate IT students;
  • several classrooms with computers at each seat for use during class;
  • the Center for Language Education provides a computing facility with specialized equipment for language instruction;
  • graphics design and business communication classes use computing facilities with the hardware and software specifically designed for these purposes.

Additionally, wireless internet access is provided in all classrooms and the newer residence halls.

One of Computing Resources 2009 projects currently underway is the job of moving all SNHU Departments to Active Directory.  Frequently Asked questions for Departments Moving from Novell to Microsoft AD are available to help the community understand what to expect.
