Vijay Kailaschandjain

- Student; On Campus

"Southern New Hampshire University made me to be a full-fledged businessman."
Ask about Southern New Hampshire University’s student leaders and you will most likely hear about Vijay Kailaschandjain. A senator in the Student Government Association, Vijay is proud to be a voice for graduate students.

He also belongs to the Human Rights Association, the Debate Society, Circle K and the Association for Cultural Exchange. In addition, he is a resident assistant and a volunteer in the School of Community Economic Development. He received the Campus Leadership Award in 2004-2005.

Vijay doesn’t let his activities interfere with his school work. He not only was the first in his family to earn a master’s degree; he has two, in international business and finance. He is now pursuing a graduate certificate in information technology and plans to apply to the Ph.D. program in community economic development.
Vijay must also make time for work. He has supported himself while earning his three master’s degrees, but also had some help. “I would not have been able to do it without the help of Professor Massood Samii, who went above and beyond in finding me scholarships so I could continue my education,” he says. “I am so blessed to have come to America; it truly is the land of opportunity. Southern New Hampshire University made me to be a full-fledged businessman. I have the leadership and confidence that I can do my best in anything if I just work hard.”
