assistant director of the MFA program, and director of the undergraduate program is the award winning author of three novels: "The Stones of Mourning Creek," "Love, Cajun Style," and "Season of Ice," the latter for which she received a prestigious PEN American fellowship. She has taught writing workshops across the country, including the shelters during Katrina’s aftermath, and has been a guest on public radio.
