Psychology major and former women’s basketball captain Maike Mocikat, of Heidelberg, Germany, wanted the adventure of studying abroad after high school.
At SNHU she is able to explore her passion for basketball and her fascination with psychology.
“What I like most about psychology is that it is so versatile. You can apply it to so many areas,” she says. “My teachers make sure that I understand all concepts discussed in class, and I love the personal attention.”
While Maike is truly enjoying her time here, she’s focusing on where she wants to be after graduation. She plans to play basketball overseas and then go to graduate school to study sports psychology. Then she wants to work with kids from broken homes.
“I would like to show these children how to gain confidence and trust and how to find a support system that they can rely on,” she says..
