Men's Tennis Edged by Bentley 5-4
MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Southern New Hampshire University men’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Thursday afternoon as it was edged by Bentley College 5-4 at the SNHU courts. The Falcons improve to 1-1 and 1-0 in Northeast-10 play, while the Penmen fall to 2-1 overall and in the league.
Picking up singles victories for the Penmen were David Spaggiari (Manizales, Colombia), a 6-0, 6-4 winner at No. 1 singles, Luiz Ramirez (San Cristobal, Venezuela), a 6-0, 6-1 victor at No. 2 and Andrew McFarland (Windham, ME), a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 winner at No. 5. Spaggiari and Ramirez would also combine for SNHU’s lone singles win, trumphing by a score of 8-6 in the No. 1 position.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it hosts Merrimack College in a 1:00 match.
