Women's Tennis Topped by Merrimack
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. – Melissa Ramos (Stoughton, MA) picked up a pair of victories but the Southern New Hampshire University women’s tennis team fell to Merrimack College by a 6-3 score on Sunday afternoon. The Warriors improved to 2-0 and 1-0 in Northeast-10 play, while the Penmen are now 1-2 overall and in the league.
Ramos posted a 6-3, 6-4 win over Elisa Dufour at No. 5 singles and also teamed with Amanda Nason (Center Sandwich, NH) for a 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles over Dufour and Allison Lydon. Meghan Welch (Mont Vernon, NH) also earned a victory at No. 6 singles against Nora Cahill by a 6-0, 6-2 count.
The SNHU women’s tennis team closes out its 2007 fall schedule Saturday when it travels to Bryant University for a 1:00 match.
