Three Named to Northeast-10 Honor Rolls
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Three Southern New Hampshire University student-athletes were named to their respective Northeast-10 Conference weekly honor rolls on Monday. Senior Laurie Boland (Worcester, MA) of the women’s soccer team, junior Sean Lambert (Rehoboth, MA) of the men’s soccer team and junior Alex Brown (Hudson, NH) of the men’s cross country team were all honored by the conference office.
Boland tallied three goals in a 1-1 week for the Penmen. She notched a pair of goals in a 3-0 win over UMass Lowell last Tuesday, then tallied SNHU’s lone goal in a 3-1 setback to nationally-ranked Franklin Pierce on Saturday. For the season, Boland leads the Penmen in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 points.
Lambert, making his first career start in goal, turned aside three shots en route to a shutout as the men’s soccer team defeated American International 1-0 in overtime on Saturday.
Brown set a school record Saturday, posting a time of 27:47 at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College to best the old program record by eight seconds. He placed 13th overall Brown has been SNHU’s top runner all season and has recorded three of the top 13 times in school history this year.
