MANCHESTER, N.H. – Senior Matt Delaney (Wallasey, England) of the Southern New Hampshire University men’s soccer team was named to the 2007 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Men’s Soccer College Division All-District Team, it was announced on Thursday.  Delaney, a senior sport management major carrying a 3.83 grade point average, was selected to the second team

Delaney recently wrapped up a two-year career with Southern New Hampshire in which he started all 40 games in which the Penmen played over that span as a defensive mainstay, anchoring a backline that allowed 18 goals in 17 regular season games and posted six shutouts.  He was also SNHU’s leading scorer with five goals for 10 points in 2007, and over his two seasons Delaney recorded 11 goals and three assists for 25 points.  He also helped lead the Penmen to a NCAA Tournament berth in 2006.

Earlier this season, Delaney was a Northeast-10 First Team All-Academic Team selection.  In 2006, Delaney was named Northeast-10 First Team All-Conference and was also named to the NSCAA All-New England Second Team.
