Sally Newman, of Bedford, will display her oil paintings at Southern New Hampshire University’s Pantano Gallery from Nov. 1 through Dec. 21. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

Newman creates meticulously executed cityscapes, still lifes and landscapes that “capture the vitality of the life around her,” she said. Her work has been shown by numerous galleries throughout the U.S. She has received national awards from Manhattan Arts International, American Arts Magazine, the Association of Women Artists, the National Society of Artists and other organizations.

“My oil paintings bring a warm and welcoming vitality to everyday life, inviting the viewer to enter my perception of realism and abstraction,” she said. “The world which I paint becomes my palette, and color gives it beauty and substance.”

The Pantano Gallery is located in Southern New Hampshire University’s Shapiro Library and is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to midnight, Fridays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to midnight. Please call the university’s Shapiro Library at 603.645.9605 for gallery information.
