The Graduate Program in Community Mental Health of Southern New Hampshire University has a new location, in Waukesha, Wis.

Classes will be held one weekend per month at the University of Wisconsin Waukesha campus.  An Open House will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Waukesha campus administration building, Community Room C101.

SNHU’s highly regarded and nationally recognized program has been offered in the Milwaukee area since 1997 and has other Wisconsin learning sites in Madison and Wausau. The program focuses on integrated community mental health and substance abuse services for children, youth and families, and adults.

A national organization, The Annapolis Coalition on the Behavioral Health Workforce, has selected SNHU’s Graduate Program in Community Mental Health as an “Innovative Practice in Workforce Development,” under the following five categories: consumer and family/adult mental health, child/adolescent and school-based mental health, leadership, rural mental health, and substance use disorders treatment and persons in recovery.

The program also has learning sites in Manchester, N.H.; Burlington, Vt., and Anchorage, Alaska. Applications are being accepted now for the Milwaukee-area and Wausau learning sites.
