SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Three Southern New Hampshire University student-athletes were honored with awards by the Northeast-10 Conference Monday.  Men’s basketball junior Troy Bowen (Nashua, NH) was named the men’s basketball Co-Player of the Week, while freshman Cory Vejraska (Alachua, FL) was named the Freshman of the Week.  Freshman hockey goalie Todd Rowley (Billerica, MA) was named the league’s Goaltender of the Week.

In addition, three other players, Julia Houghtaling (Franconia, NH) of the women’s basketball team and Ed Montgomery (Colchester, VT) and Bob Bryant (Nashua, NH) of the ice hockey team were named to their respective Weekly Honor Rolls.

Rowley, who becomes the third different SNHU goaltender to claim Goaltender of the Week honors this season, stopped 31 of the 34 shots he faced in the Penmen’s lone game last week, a 5-3 win over Franklin Pierce.

Houghtaling, who was named to the Honor Roll for the third straight week, averaged 12.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last week in a 2-1 week.  She recorded a double-double (17 pts, 10 reb) in a setback to Franklin Pierce on Saturday.
